Thriller
Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson's Thriller is one of, if not THE, biggest selling album of all-time. So who am I to say anything BAD about it? Michael is known for his great song writing, among other things, but he only wrote 4 of the 9 songs on this album. Michael wrote the following: Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (#5 in 1983), The Girl Is Mine (with Paul McCartney #2 1982), Beat It (#1 1983), and Billie Jean (#1 1983). Rod Temperton, former leader of the group Heatwave, wrote Baby Be Mine ( good song), The Lady In My Life (also a good song), and he wrote the title track Thriller (#4 in 1984). Human Nature (#7 1983) was written by Steve Porcaro and John Bettis. P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) was written by two greats James Ingram (one of my personal favorite artists) and Quincy Jones, a god in the music business. Awesome album, great talents working together, it's a must have classic.
