Between Seasons

Scott Baker & the Universal Expressions, I believe, are a local mid-Michigan band. I've seen them live and they put on a good show. I like most of the songs here, these guys are good musicians, my biggest problem with this cd is the recording of the lead vocals. It sounds too raw for a studio effort. 

The songs that stood out from the pack for me are: Mellow Haze, Day By Day, Color Me, and Your Turn. I thought Starve My Eyes,  Between Seasons, and Chance Meeting were clunker for me. Swingin' Breeze, Slap Back, Exit, View From The Peak, and the 14 minute 16 second final track This Time Of Year were just ok.

If you like them live you'll like the cd. I'll be keeping mine.
