A Collection OF His Greatest Hits

Babyface

Kenneth Edmonds of Indianapolis Indiana is better known as "Babyface." This is another "Greatest Hits" collection that does even come close to having all the artists greatest hits. One of my pet peaves. This has 6 of Babyface's 12 top 40 hits. The first is It's No Crime which reached #7 on the Pop charts in 1989 and #1 for 2 weeks on the R&B charts. In 1990 Whipped Appeal peaked at #6 on the pop charts. Never Keeping Secrets hit #15 in 1993. Gold record Everytime I Close My Eyes reached #6 in 1997 with the help of Mariah Carey on backing vocals, Shelila E. on percussion and Kenny G on saxophone. When Can I See You was also a gold record peaking at #4 in 1994.  This Is For The Lover In You is Babyface's only platinum record. With the help of LL Cool J, Howard Hewett, Jody Watley, and Jeffery Daniels this song reach #6 in 1996.

Songs that did not chart but I thought were still very good are Reason For Breathing, Change The World (featuring Eric Clapton), Soon As I Get Home, and When Men Grow Old.

I found three songs to be O.K: How Come, How Long (featuring Stevie Wonder), I Love You Babe, and Where Will You Go.

The very first song on the CD is the only song I really didn't like, For The Cool In You, the rest are fine pieces of work.

I'm glad to have this in my collection.
